My name is Daan van Schaik, a wildlife photographer driven by the raw side of nature. For years, I’ve been chasing real moments in the wild — no setups, no control, just animals as they are meant to be: free and untamed.

I don’t photograph animals in captivity. Everything I capture happens out there, in real conditions. That means long days, sometimes endless waiting, and working through extreme environments — from freezing cold to intense heat. It’s not always comfortable, but that’s exactly where the real images are made.

For me, wildlife photography isn’t about perfection. It’s about honesty. It’s about earning the moment rather than creating it. Every image tells a story of patience, respect, and the unpredictable nature of the wild.

Beyond my own work, I value being part of a community that shares the same passion. A place where stories, experiences, and the love for wildlife come together.
